Daniel Danielsson is a Creative Director and Motion Designer, specialised in Advertising and Motion for Marketing. Born and raised in the rugged landscapes of Swedish Norrland, now based just north of London. I usually describe myself as the proud owner of an overactive imagination, passionate heart, and curious mind – while others describe me as insane, insisting they mean that in a good way.
What I create is Emotive Motion with a Motive – that’s motion design with a purpose beyond prettiness. Something with a strong concept that fits the bigger picture of the brand, and has the potential to scale for use across everything from Broadcast to Social Media, and even print. Sure, I will absolutely make it pretty, even beautiful, but what’s the point of beauty without purpose?
I will take your project from a brief, lead it every step of the way from ideation to final renders, until it has become a fully developed motion campaign. If you don’t have a brief, I can help with that too.
Alternatively if you’re looking for someone to take care of a specific aspect of a project, I’m happy to contribute to any part of the process.
I'm currently welcoming new clients and studio bookings.

/ TEACHING & SPEAKING
/// London Motion Meetups / Jul 2017 / Speaker
LONDON, UK: The London Motion Meetup group invited me to talk about a recent project to a very hot room chock-full of sweaty Motion Designers at the legendary Zigfrid von Underbelly in Hoxton Square. How could I resist?
/// Umeå Institute of Design / Sep 2015, 2016 & 2017 / Guest Lecturer
UMEÅ, SWEDEN: For the past three years I've hosted a grand day of VFX for the Interaction Design MFA Students. They spend a week learning about filmmaking, during which they create their own short films. Each film must include one or more VFX shots, and it's my task to provide the knowledge and help necessary to complete them.
/// Coventry University / Feb 2017 / Guest Lecturer
COVENTRY, UK: Course Director Sid Porobic asked me to speak about Motion with his Interior Architecture and Design students. I talked about the idea of "Interior Motion Design" – the intersection of the two disciplines and how they can be used to complement and elevate one another.
/// Kreator / Feb 2012 to Jun 2012 / Mentor
UMEÅ, SWEDEN: Through Kreator I tutored Rebecka Sandqvist, four hours, twice a week. Introducing her to basic animation and motion principles, as well as some basics of After Effects and Cinema 4D. We did micro-projects together and reverse engineered some of my previous work.
